The winner of November's Van of The Month is Kev (aka Kevsplitty) & Suzy Goldsmith's sexy red 15 window.
Some words from Kev...
We bought our bus bout 5 yrs ago, we had been looking for a split for a while, loved our bay but wanted a split, then this 62 15 window came up, had a 6 hr journey to view but well worth the trip, went back a few days later to drive it home, was a very long journey back on a freezing cold february day but one of the best, will always remember our first trip.
When we got it it was blue/cream so sent for the birth certificate which told us originally it was sealing wax red/beige grey. It needed a bit of work so i sold my nearly new Yamaha R6 i had at the time & spent the money on a new paint job.
New front panel, two front arches, rear arch, rear corner later! ,plus paint it looked lovely, not perfect but good enough for us to camp around in. Inside my mum trimmed the panels, the interior i think is from a baywindow it was already in, but works really well with a pull out bed not R&R,fridge, cooker, grill sink with running water etc. I've installed a leisure battery, firetec system has a cd system, cb radio for when we cruise to shows with mates.
It's been irs'd using a 78 bay running gear & ive just got a 091 6 rib 2.0l box to go in to help with motorway cruising as its currently running a 1600 box with a 1600tp engine. Hopefully after new years eve camping trip it will be stripped ready for the gearbox swap to take place. Have done many miles camping in it,over 1200 miles in a week around wales, then this year we used it for our wedding day then went cruising around the lakes, yorkshire, derbyshire etc for our honeymoon, we just love it, wouldn't be without it,have met so many lovely people through it,its the best thing we've ever bought.
Future plans are to design & make my own interior but in the meantime aim to use it as much as possible.
